#30 It’s all coming together: Kitchen, Doors & Trim

The kitchen has taken shape.

Matthew cut and installed our Madrone butcher block counter top and John seasoned and water proofed it with 2 applications, top and bottom, of pure Tung Oil mixed with Citrus Solvent, which is pure citrus oil.  Both products are by The  Real Milk Company.   Next will come the sink and stove (not pictured).  Waiting on the plumber to install those next week.

Also in progress is the Pacific stove vent/fan installation  A box had to be built to attach it to and run upward to hide the duct work.  It will be finished to tie in with the cabinets with the same salvaged wood and painted white.  Two open shelves stained with Rubio will go in to the left of the kitchen window.

I’m refinishing the medicine cabinet and the large pantry I bought a while ago.  I’ll post pictures of those when they are done.

The doors and trim are almost all in.  Door hardware still needs to be installed.  As you can see, the floors have been covered with paper so they don’t get ruined while the rest of the work is done.

We picked up our wood stove yesterday and boy is it cute!  As soon as it is installed I will post photos of it.

Here is Matthew’s “note to self” on what needs to get done in the next two weeks.  I love it! The race is on!!!

That’s all for now… we’re set to move in on the 28th of March.  Thanks for stopping by!!!  🙂

      Thanks Peggy!

I would like to add a side note that I misspelled the citrus oil product. It is Citrus Solvent NOT CitraSolve. I have corrected it in the post as well.
